Redeeming Love Christian Church (RLCCC) was founded by Pastor Joan Cooper in 2003, with 11 members. Prior to establishing RLCCC, Pastor Cooper was licensed and ordained as an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
During the interim of the 2003, annual conference year Pastor Cooper felt a strong mandate to launch out from the denominational setting. Without full understanding, she obeyed and Redeeming Love was founded with a strong desire to equip believers for works of service.
Pastor Cooper found space in The Ramada Inn and later the Embassy Suites, however space constraints and persecution caused her to search for a permanent location conducive for growth and expansion. In October, 2003, the church re-located to its present location and it is here that the ministry has and continues to experience the supernatural favor of God.
During the initial founding of the ministry, Pastor Cooper received the unwavering support of Pastor’s Michael and Carolyn Gibson of Miraculous Christian Center Church Houston, TX. From there countless hours of sharing of both advice and personal expertise, Pastor Cooper was encouraged to remain faithful.
In the later part of 2003, Pastor Cooper was introduced to the teaching ministry of Bishop I.V. and Lady Bridget Hilliard of New Light Christian Center Church Houston, TX whose spirit of excellence and integrity, love of the word, and God’s people greatly enriched her life and significantly impacted her “faith walk.” Desiring a spiritual covering, in October 2005, Pastor Cooper was licensed and ordained by the Association of Independent Ministries (AIM) under the leadership of Bishop Hilliard and later became a “spiritual daughter” through this organization. From there dynamic teaching, Pastor Cooper following the example of her spiritual parents, “not moved by what she sees only by what she believes” ministers the gospel in a bold and tenacious way. She pursues the vision which God has given to her in developing people that will make a difference in a world that is indifferent to God through a dynamic teaching and exhortation style ministry which “tells truth, teaches truth and trains in truth”, thereby transforming and empowering lives for purposeful and productive living.
In November 2005, continuing to follow God’s lead, Pastor Cooper pursued the vision of embarking on a media ministry which lead to the inception of Victory Through the Word Broadcast which is aired each Sunday morning on KWHI 1280AM Brenham, TX.
